Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine has been in use around the world for hundreds of years to treat a wide range of health conditions. Anywhere in the world one can discover herbal remedies that are used to treat illness and promote health.  Modern-day herbalists draw from the rich history of herbalism and its vast legacy of anecdotal evidence combined with modern clinical trials to inform their practice.

Herbal medicines are prepared from plants & trees utilising roots, barks, berries, leave, stems and flowers which contain a wide range of chemicals constituents.  These constituents act on the body similar to pharmaceutical drugs with the exception, they are gentler, have fewer side effects, often none and offer a wide range of therapeutic actions.  Each herb tends to offer several actions which can then be combined with other herbs to create a truly bespoke personalized medicine. Herbal medicine come in a variety of preparation e.g. tinctures, infusions, creams, salves which enable the herbalist to tackle a wide range of health conditions both internally and externally.

The initial consultation allows the herbalist to take a holistic assessment of the patient, taking into account both physical and emotional wellbeing, health history, clinical examinations and tests along with dietary and lifestyle aspects.
